Josh Kline - Chairman
Kline’s experience encompasses production, business operations and strategy. Kline is co-Founder of Sample Digital and served as company’s CEO from 2003 through 2006. Previously, Kline served as Chief Operating Officer for SampleReels.com beginning in 2000. After establishing longstanding relationships with technology partners including Microsoft and Intel, and guiding the company through the transition to digital media service provider, Josh re-branded the company as Sample Digital in 2001. Josh oversaw development of the Digital Dailies® system commencing in 2001. Prior to joining SampleReels.com, Josh's experience encompassed numerous disciplines within the entertainment industry, including talent agency ICM, feature production at Paramount Pictures, commercial production at HSI, Pytka and Radical Media, eventually working as an independent producer and writer before transitioning to entertainment-related technologies as a New Media Consultant for the Holiday Inn Corporation.

In addition to his current duties as Chairman of Sample Digital, his primary focus is as CEO of Secure Path Technologies. Secure Path is a metadata services company providing content identification, metadata management and metadata exchange services to media & entertainment companies across multiple types of content. The Company is a Registration Agency for the International Standard Audiovisual Number or ISAN issuance and metadata management for AV works primarily movie and television programming. Josh holds a B.S. in Planning and Development from the University of Southern California.
Patrick Macdonald-King - CEO/President
Macdonald-King’s experience encompasses strategic marketing, production, corporate finance, and business management. Prior to Sample Digital, Macdonald-King was the CEO and Co-Founder of DAX Solutions, Inc. and assumed the same capacity after the Sample Digital, Digital Dailies® and DAX merged operations. Macdonald-King led the integration of the DAX and Digital Dailies® business units and product lines as well as consolidating operations. Macdonald-King has been working with Sample Digital and DAX since 2002. Prior to Sample Digital/DAX, he was Managing Director of Mamisi DMS, a digital media services and Digital Dailies® solution provider servicing the film and television production industry. Mamisi developed an onset encoding solution that captured and encoded video straight from the camera and distributed it offset via the internet through a centrally hosted portal. Prior to Mamisi, Macdonald-King was the VP of Marketing and Corporate Development of the Annex Group, a concept and brand development group which launched USA brands into the Canadian market, where he was responsible for establishing business operations and marketing plans for Au Bon Pain, an east coast restaurant chain.

Prior to Annex, Macdonald-King worked in key roles in both production and account services for Fortune 500 companies such as BBDO and Ogilvy & Mather on such clients as Daimler Chrysler, Effem/Mars and IBM overseeing the development and execution of marketing strategies, campaign production and business development. Macdonald-King was a key strategic contributor and member of the global team overseeing the international launch of IBM’s e-business platform. Macdonald-King has been on numerous panels on media asset management and has been quoted or featured in articles in such publications as Variety, Hollywood Reporter, Millimeter, Post Magazine, Strategy, EContent, Below the Line and Information Weekly.

Macdonald-King holds a B.S. degree in economics and commerce from the University of Western Ontario.
Marlin Prager - Chief Financial Officer
Prager’s experience includes corporate finance, financial and business management. Prior to joining the Sample Digital management team in 2004, Prager worked in the entertainment practices of both Price Waterhouse and Houlihan Lokey Howard & Zukin. Throughout his tenure of employment, Marlin has worked predominately with entertainment or entertainment-related companies including film studios, post-production, print, media, music companies and major talent agencies. Marlin has worked with or consulted with every major studio over the course of his career. Marlin has participated in numerous transactions including film and music library securitizations, fairness and solvency opinions, motion picture financings utilizing tax motivated structures and various mergers and acquisitions.

In addition to his duties as CFO, Prager is currently the Vice President of Finance for Legendary Pictures, an independent production company founded in 2005 to develop, co-produce, co-finance and distribute major motion pictures through a strategic partnership with Warner Bros. Prager is is a CPA and holds an MBA from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA.
Chip Robertson - Head of Business Affairs/Corporate Development
At Sample, Robertson’s role includes business affairs, corporate development and strategic planning. Robertson is a former corporate attorney specializing in the acquisition and licensing of intellectual property at Paul, Hastings Janofsky & Walker LLP, a Los Angeles-based law firm. At Paul Hastings, Chip represented a portfolio company of 550 Digital Media Ventures, a Sony Music entity, as well as print publishers, software companies and a major University’s Office of Technology and Licensing. In 2002, he served as a legal and business affairs consultant for Moviso, a provider of wireless entertainment content. At Moviso, Chip participated in the sale of the company to Vivendi/Universal and was involved in the company’s content licensing efforts. He is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, attended law school at the University of California (Hastings), received a DBS (Business Studies), with Merit, from the London School of Economics and holds a MBA from Anderson School of Management at UCLA.
Mike McCoy - Director
McCoy is an experienced producer, stuntman and motorcycle racer. McCoy is currently the CEO and Founder of Bandito’s Brother, a film and commercial production company in Los Angeles. Prior to Bandito, McCoy worked extensively in production and stunt capacities for Joe Pitka, Tony Scott, Rob Chen and John Mctiernen. In 2004, McCoy produced and starred in the feature film “From Dust to Glory” and has gone on to produce and direct several other film and commercial projects.

Paralleling his racing and film success, McCoy also co-founded Sample Digital in 2002. McCoy was the founding CEO and helped establish Sample Digital into the entertainment marketplace. McCoy was also an initial founder of Secure Path Technology, the first ISAN registration agent in North America.
